MARY KREITZ

Mary Kreitz loves working with the kids everyone else would give up on - those kids that other people would label as “bad” or “hopeless.”

Kreitz began working at C&A in 2002. She worked in outpatient services, school-based services, and the Trauma-Informed Day Treatment program before moving on to become the trauma lead for C&A’s trauma program. In this position, she provides trauma therapy for children/adolescents who have experienced trauma. Mary supports the clinical staff at C&A by providing them with information about the latest updates in the field of trauma, providing professional trainings, and assisting with difficult cases. Kreitz also coordinates with other agencies in the community who serve children and families who have experienced trauma, abuse and neglect. She provides training throughout the community on topics including trauma, ACES, grief, and suicide.

In her role as the Group Services Coordinator, Kreitz continues the fine C&A tradition of experiential groups for youth. She organizes and provides evidence-based skill-building groups that address a variety of concerns, age groups and special populations.

Her educational background includes a master’s degree in community counseling from the University of Akron. She is certified as a trauma and loss specialist by the National Center for Trauma and Loss in Children and a trained provider of Parent Child Interaction Therapy.
