Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health (C&A) has been awarded numerous grants throughout its history. The agency has a proven track record and is recognized as the premier mental and behavioral health agency in Stark County. C&A has received grants from non-profit agencies and foundations.

Grants awarded in 2025

  • Health Foundation of Greater Massillon awarded C&A $29,550 to move to an electronic intake and check-in process providing a better user experience for our clients. The electronic intake process will reduce barriers for clients, increase access to our services and allow for electronic pre-check for clients.
  • C&A received $4,950 from the Massillon Rotary Foundation to fund wellness initiatives for staff at the Massillon YMCA, the Boys & Girls Club of Massillon, and Massillon Preschool. The goal is to improve morale and retention by supporting the well-being of educators and youth workers—ultimately enhancing the care provided to children and families.
  • C&A was granted a $5,200 North Canton Medical Foundation grant to be used to improve the agency’s financial sustainability by enhancing billing processes and optimizing revenue cycle operations.
  • The Ohio Program for College Safety and Mental Health awarded C&A a $1,978.23 to provide a collegiate well-being fair on each of Stark County's six collegiate campus in the fall.
  • C&A received a $1,602 from the Women's Fund to purchase books therapeutic books therapists may use to assist with clients better understand their thoughts and feelings in between sessions.


  • C&A received a $937 SummerTime Kids Grant for the agency's Trauma Informed Day Treatment students will benefit from this grant allowing the agency to provide an animal learning experience. This project will allow the students to have an interactive experience with a trained animal expert who will provide a presentation and overview of the animals. Students will also do a research project on the different animals that will be present that day.
  • The Roy H. Powell and Nina B Powell Family Charitable Fund provided $8,000 for general
    support funding to the agency.
  • C&A received two allocations from United Way totaling a $168,888. The two allocations are for: total $71,570 for the Positive Parenting
    Program (Triple P) and $97,257 to support after-school behavioral health programming at the Central YMCA and Boys & Girls Club of Massillon. These programs provide critical support and skill-building opportunities for youth during out-of-school hours.
  • C&A was awarded a $55,000 Canton Community Development Block Grant to update its Trauma Informed Day Treatment classrooms.


Grants awarded in 2024

  • C&A received a $10,000 grant from the Wish, Cope and Life Foundation for after-school programming at the Boys & Girls Club of Massillon.
  • C&A received a $225,000 grant to expand the agency’s Multi-Systemic Therapy (MST) team. MST provides intensive home therapy to clients. This grant will enable the agency to add a second team in Stark County and an additional provider in Medina County.
  • C&A receives a $500,000 grant from the Ohio Children’s Trust Family Fund Family Success Network. Through this grant, C&A will hire three family coaches and provided family services including Triple P in Stark County.
  • C&A received a $30,000 grant from the Ohio Mental Health and Addiction Services workforce grant.
  • C&A received a $104,000 grant from United Way of Stark County to provide after-school services at the Boys and Girls Club of Massillon and YMCA’s after school programs.
  • C&A received a $76,000 grant from United Way to provide Positive Parenting Program (Triple P) classes to families in Stark County.
