Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health (C&A) has been awarded numerous grants throughout its history. The agency has a proven track record and is recognized as the premier mental and behavioral health agency in Stark County. C&A has received grants from non-profit agencies and foundations.

Ohio Center of Excellence for Behavioral Health Prevention & Promotion
C&A received a $15,000 grant to host a three-day Prevention Education Conference

Women's Fund Grant
C&A received $2,950 for CAMS training for our Clinical Staff. This training helps clinicians identify clients with suicide ideation.

Grants awarded in 2022

Alliance American Rescue Plan Act Funding Grant
C&A received $10,000 for retention/hiring of staff in Alliance.

College Community Collaboration Grant
$3,560 From Ohio Program for Campus Safety and Mental Health for C&A's collegiate self-care fairs. These fairs provide self-care tips and suicide prevention awareness.

Ohio Center of Excellence for Behavioral Health and Prevention & Promotion
C&A received a $13,780 to design a Stark County Prevention Education Conference.

Ohio Children's Trust Fund
C&A received a $95,000 from the Ohio Children's Trust Fund for Triple P programming in Stark, Summit and Portage counties.

Ohio Mental Health & Addiction Services
Awarded C&A a $58,233 grant to support efforts to expand an already established Youth-Led programming with the development of a sister program to target transitioned  aged youth ages 18-25.

Sisters of Charity Foundation
Awarded C&A $100,000 to support behavioral health services for children participating in after-school and summer programs offered by the YMCA of Central Stark County and Boys & Girls Club of Massillon.

United Way of Greater Stark County
The Early Childhood Prevention Program received a consultation grant for $73,436.50.
C&A, in collaboration with the YMCA Boys/Girls Prevention Program, received a grant for $126,000.

Aultman Foundation
C&A received a $5,000 grant for therapists to be trained in DBT Modual Treatment Training.

Canton Community Development Block Grant
$93,000 to build a new parking lot at the corner of Third Street Northeast and Cornell Avenue Northeast.

Massillon Community Charitable Grant
C&A received a $2,000 grant for case management services for Dialectical Behavioral Therapy clients.

Ohio Children's Trust Fund
Awarded C&A $95,405 for Positive Parenting Program (Triple P) services for parents of children ages 2-12 in Stark, Summit and Portage counties.

Ohio Program for Campus Safety and Mental Health
Ohio Program for Campus Safety and Mental Health awarded C&A a $4,200 grant to partner with Stark County Collegiate Fair Mental Health Awareness.

Sisters of Charity Foundation
C&A received a $53,316 grant to support mental and behavioral health services for children enrolled in summer programs offered by the YMCA of Central Stark County at its Alliance, Canton and Plain Local sites and Lighthouse Ministries.

Stark Community Foundation
C&A received an $80,000 grant to support the agency's Early Childhood Program. Charitable Funds supporting this grant are The William E. Shanafelt Philanthropic Fund, Theodore B. and Ruth E. Hubbard , James K. and Carol Luntz and James V. and Velia Armogida.

The Hoover Foundation
C&A received a $5,000 grant to support clinicians by providing much needed art supplies, workbooks, crafts and games during therapeutic sessions.

The Timken Co. Charitable Fund
C&A received a $5,000 grant from the Timken Co. Charitable Fund for the Day Treatment Program to purchase school supplies.

Grants awarded in 2020

Canton Community Development Block Grant COVID-19
C&A received two grants from the Canton Community Development Block Grant COVID-19 Cares Fund.
*  The first grant is for $34,820 to install no touch equipment in our Shipley office.
*  The second grant is for $30,000 for community outreach related to COVID issues children are experiencing.

Marathon Petroleum Company
C&A was awarded a $45,000 grant to start Phase 1 of developing a park for our Day Treatment students

Ohio Children's Trust Fund
The Ohio Children's Trust Fund awarded C&A a $71,673 grant to train five clinicians in Positive Parenting Program (Triple P). Two providers will be trained in Level 3 and three providers will be trained for Level 4. The Triple P programs provides positive parenting tips and strategies for parents to use in raising their children.

Ohio Program for Campus Safety and Mental Health
Ohio Program for Campus Safety and Mental Health awarded C&A a $5,000 grant to partner with Stark County Collegiate Fair Mental Health Awareness.

Ohio Mental Health & Addiction Services (Ohio MHAS)
OhioMHAS Awarded C&A a $24,900 grant for community outreach programming for COVID issues children are experiencing.

Ohio Tech Cred
The State of Ohio awarded a $1,681.50 grant for staff continued education

Plain Township COVID Cares
Plain Township awarded $3,009 in COVID Cares supplies money

Stark MHAR
StarkMHAR awarded a $1,000 Workforce Scholarship to Marissa Cooney.
C&A was awarded a $1,000 grant to sponsor Stark County Schools Mental Health Week
C&A was awarded $500 to sponsor Stark County Collegiate Fairs

Grants awarded in 2019

ArtsInStark Grant
ArtsInStark awarded C&A a $3,000 grant in January to support a six-week art project our Trauma Day Treatment Program utilizes with our students.

Sisters of Charity Foundation of Canton Grant:
C&A received a $5,000 grant from the Sisters of Charity in early April to support C&A’s succession planning with Markwood Partners. Succession planning will include a workshop for selected leadership members; facilitating talent review; conducting succession planning; and facilitating a development plan.

The Aultman Foundation Grant:
C&A received a $17,000 grant from The Aultman Foundation to help cover the cost of Trauma Informed Day Treatment Summer Transportation.

Stark Foundation Grant:
The Stark County Foundation awarded C&A a $2,000 SummerTime Kids, a grant initiative of the foundation. The money will be used to build upon success from previous years using the I Can Problem Solve curriculum.

The Canton Community Development Block Grant:
The city of Canton awarded C&A $70,000 for gymnasium renovations.

The Timken Foundation:
The Timken Foundation awarded C&A a $151,750 grant to replace the roof at the Shipley office.

Sisters of Charity Foundation of Canton Grant:
The Sisters of Charity Foundation of Canton awarded C&A a $282,244 three-year Infrastructure grant.

Ohio Program for Campus Safety & Mental Health:
The Ohio Program for Campus Safety & Mental Health awarded C&A a $3,905 grant for programming for Stark County Collegiate Mental Health Week.

Timken Employees Fund:
The Timken Employees Fund awarded C&A $4,475 for the purchase of furniture.

North Canton Medical Foundation:
The North Canton Medical Foundation awarded C&A a $5,850 for 15 C&A clinicians to receive certification training for Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)
