STARK COUNTY SCHOOLS MENTAL HEALTH WEEK

Stark County Schools Mental Health Week brings high school students from 18 Stark County School Districts together to for a week full of positive mental health messaging for elementary, middle and high school students in each district.

The week incorporates age-appropriate messages at each level, including posters being hung in schools, morning announcements and positive JPEG images for students.

This year, 25 high school students from 19 area high schools were chosen to be Student Mental Health Champions. These champions created a unity video along with 18 self-care video tips to share with their peers on C&A's social media platforms and their school districts. Hearing a message from a peer who is facing similar circumstances and struggles is a powerful message. The singular unifying message to all Stark County students is you got this.

POSTERS

Every school district that participates in Stark County Schools Mental Health Week receives posters to hang in their buildings.

PROMOTING POSITIVE MENTAL HEALTH

Elementary students in participating districts will receive an erasable name card to place on their desk. Each card has a space for students to list their name, grade and favorite subjects. Additionally, there will be a space for students to circle what they need, such as a smile or compliment, and to write their favorite thing about another student.

Middle school students will receive a positive affirmation sticker with one of two different messages to act as a reminder throughout the day. Students may place their sticker on a water bottle or binder to easily spot the reminder throughout the day.
