Patrick Mackie
C&A Board President Patrick Mackie is a native of Burlington, Ontario, Canada, where he graduated high school from Assumption Catholic Secondary School. Mackie came to the United States for college and to play football.
Mackie played football on an athletic scholarship at Walsh University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in communications. Canada does not offer collegiate athletic scholarships. Mackie is a dual citizen – his mother is from Youngstown and his father is from Hamilton, Ontario.
Mackie describes how he first became involved with C&A.
“I attended a couple of Let Your Light Shine Events, enjoyed my dealings with the organization and CEO,” wrote Mackie, who is married to Lauren. They have two children, Mila and Maverick, and two dogs, Trooper, a great dane, and Bear, a German shepherd. “I applied to join the board in 2016 when a position became available.”
This past year, Mackie served as first vice president on the board. He assumed the president’s role on July 1, 2019.
“The mission and the people,” wrote Mackie is what he enjoys about working with C&A. “The dedication and work that C&A employees and management put forth to serve the youth in our community is awe inspiring. I feel privileged to be associated with this organization.”
Mackie, who is the director of operations at Lemmon Development, also is on The Golden Key Center for Exceptional Children Board of Directors and is president of the Walsh University Football PMA Club.
A surprising fact about Mackie is, “I am Canadian and I never played organized hockey.”
