C&A Treasurer Heather Pennington offers this advice “Don’t be afraid to ask for help and support; the only time no one will help is when they don’t know you need it.”

Pennington, who was born in Texas, moved around often childhood due to her father being in the Army. Pennington moved to Ohio by high school. She graduated from Bowling Senior High School in Bowling Green.

Pennington attended Owens Community College and the University of Findlay, where she earned her bachelor of science degree in managerial and financial accounting. She earned her master’s degree in business administration from Walsh University. Pennington is currently the refinery accounting supervisor at Marathon Petroleum’s Canton Refinery.

Pennington explained how she became involved with the board. “I did the board matching program through Leadership Stark County.  I love what C&A does and what it stands for; so many parents and kids need to have a place they can go for help without shame. C&A is a blessing for a lot of families.”

She currently serves on the operation and executive committees. In addition to C&A, Pennington is chairman of the Massillon Museum board of directors.
