A native of Western Pennsylvania where the three rivers come together, Pittsburgh, Child and Adolescent (C&A) Board President Dr. Linda Sklar moved to Mayfield Heights, outside of Cleveland in her teens, where she graduated from Mayfield Heights High School.
Sklar, a retired school administrator and speech pathologist, currently works as a speech pathologist (private contracts) for Canton SPARK and Golden Key for Exceptional Children.
“I became involved with C&A when I was asked by the former CEO after I retired to represent the early childhood population,” wrote Sklar, who earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Kent State University and her Ed.D in Educational Leadership from the University of Akron.
A board member since December of 2009, Sklar wrote what she likes best about C&A. “I feel that by being on the board of C&A, I am supporting the wonderful clinicians and the vital work they do with our families and children. In today’s world, the services C&A provides is vital to producing healthy productive adults.”
In additional to C&A, Sklar is involved in Quota International of Canton, Ohio, Shaaray Torah Synagogue, Jewish Family Services Board and Landmark Professional Growth and Training.
